Sennheiser EW-DX digital wireless microphone hire

Our new EW-DX equipment brings digital wireless audio and Dante connectivity to your event. It is a practical choice for panel discussions, corporate presentations, live vocals and stage productions where several microphones need to work together.

EW-DX EM 4 Dante four-channel receiver

The Sennheiser EW-DX EM 4 Dante provides four independent wireless receiver channels in one compact 19-inch rack unit. Each channel receives one active transmitter, so the receiver can handle up to four microphones at the same time, using a combination of handhelds and bodypacks.

Dante connectivity allows audio to be routed into a compatible networked sound system. Individual balanced XLR outputs also connect to conventional mixers, so you do not need Dante equipment to hire EW-DX. Network control and monitoring give a suitably equipped technician access to system settings and status.

EW-DX SKM-S handhelds with MMD 845-1 microphone heads

Our digital handheld microphones pair Sennheiser EW-DX SKM-S transmitters with MMD 845-1 dynamic super-cardioid microphone heads. They suit speeches, presentations and live vocals, with a directional pickup pattern that helps focus on the person speaking or singing.

The SKM-S has a programmable mute switch, which can be configured to suit the event. Keeping the microphone close to the mouth and positioning speakers appropriately remain important for clear, consistent sound.

EW-DX SK bodypack transmitters

Sennheiser EW-DX SK bodypack transmitters connect compatible headset or lapel microphones to the digital receiver. The compact transmitter clips to clothing, leaving the wearer’s hands free for presenting, demonstrating or performing.

Each active bodypack uses one receiver channel, whether it is fitted with a headset or a lapel microphone. Tell us how many people need microphones simultaneously and any fitting requirements so we can prepare the right combination.

Our current EW-DX receiver provides four simultaneous channels. Available combinations depend on transmitter stock and your dates. For more than four digital channels, or a larger production combining equipment, request a quote so we can confirm availability and arrangements.

Sennheiser G3 Standard wireless microphone hire

Our established Sennheiser ew 100 G3 equipment remains available for straightforward speeches, wedding receptions, parties and presentations. It is a cost-effective choice when you need an individual wireless microphone or a simple setup.

G3 handheld and headset systems use EM 100 G3 receivers. Our G3 lapel kit uses an EK 100 G3 portable receiver; please tell us what you will connect it to so we can check the audio connection.

Which wireless microphone should you choose?

Handheld wireless microphones

Handheld microphones are easy to pass between speakers, making them a useful choice for wedding speeches, audience questions, announcements and live vocals. The transmitter is built into the microphone, so there is no separate bodypack to wear.

Choose G3 Standard for our established Sennheiser handheld system, or EW-DX Digital for an EW-DX SKM-S handheld with an MMD 845-1 head and a channel on the EW-DX EM 4 Dante receiver.

Headset wireless microphones

A headset leaves both hands free and keeps the microphone close to the mouth as the wearer moves. It is a useful choice for active presenters, demonstrations, theatre performances and school productions.

Our headset option includes a Sennheiser HSP Essential Omni with a compatible bodypack from your chosen range: an SK 100 G3 for G3 Standard or an EW-DX SK for EW-DX Digital. Tell us about fitting requirements and how many performers or presenters will use microphones at once.

Lapel and lavalier wireless microphones

Lapel microphones, also called lavalier or tie-clip microphones, attach discreetly to clothing. They suit interviews, filmed presentations and talks where the speaker wants their hands free. Position the microphone clear of jewellery or fabric that could rub against it.

The G3 lapel kit includes a Sennheiser ME2 microphone, G3 bodypack transmitter and EK 100 G3 portable receiver, with a 3.5 mm jack-to-XLR cable. EW-DX lapel bookings use a compatible lapel microphone with an EW-DX SK bodypack and a channel on the EM 4 Dante rack receiver. The digital option is a rack-based system; it does not include the G3 portable receiver.

Several EW-DX microphones share the four-channel receiver, with each microphone using its own independent channel. Speakers, mixers, microphone stands and an engineer remaining at the event are additional services.

Hire prices and additional days

G3 Standard: handheld and lapel systems are £30 each; headset systems are £40 each. These equipment rates cover 1–2 days, with each additional day charged at 40% of the combined base hire price.

EW-DX Digital is priced separately. Request an EW-DX quote confirming your microphone combination, hire period and any applicable minimum package charge.

Include rehearsal days when selecting your hire dates. Delivery, setup, subsequent collection and any additional crew support are quoted separately.

Several microphones, theatre or school productions?

Tell us the simultaneous microphone count, venue, rehearsal and performance dates, and any existing venue wireless equipment. We can discuss the equipment combination, receiver connections, fitting requirements and support needed.

Request a production microphone quote and include your mixer model, whether Dante connectivity is required, and whether you need setup and handover or an engineer to operate the sound. Equipment availability and the practical channel count are confirmed for each booking.

Wireless microphone hire questions

Can I mix handheld, headset and lapel microphones?

Yes. Choose G3 Standard or EW-DX Digital, then select the microphone types and quantities within that range. Each microphone used simultaneously needs its own receiver channel. An EW-DX EM 4 Dante provides four channels in one receiver. If you need both G3 and EW-DX equipment in the same booking, ask us for a tailored quote.

Do four receiver channels mean four handheld microphones?

No. Four channels means up to four active transmitters at once, using handhelds, bodypacks or a mixture. A headset and a lapel used by two people need two bodypacks and two channels. The microphone combination supplied depends on your booking and available stock.

Will the microphones work with my existing PA?

For an analogue connection, you will normally need one suitable mixer input per microphone to control each independently. EW-DX also offers Dante connectivity for compatible systems. Send us your mixer or speaker model so we can confirm the connections; the microphones do not transmit audio to speakers over Bluetooth.

Is a sound engineer included?

The microphone prices cover equipment hire. Delivery, setup, handover and an engineer remaining to operate the sound can be quoted according to your event. Please specify the level of help you need.

Do I need to arrange wireless microphone licensing?

Licensing is included with the supplied systems. Tell us the venue and any other wireless equipment in use so the requirements for your event can be checked. Frequencies and equipment combinations need planning, particularly for larger systems.

Can I hire microphones for a rehearsal and show week?

Yes. Include all the days you need the equipment when selecting dates, or request a production quote covering rehearsals and performances. Tell us about batteries, fitting accessories, spare microphones and operator support you would like included.
