Wireless microphone hire for your event
Choose the microphone that suits the person using it, whether that is a handheld for speeches, a headset for a presenter or a discreet lapel mic for an interview. Our Sennheiser radio microphone systems can be hired individually or combined in one booking, with a separate quantity for each type.
Oxford Sound Hire supplies equipment for weddings, conferences, live performances and school productions across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. Use your own compatible sound system or add PA system hire for a complete setup.
Which wireless microphone should you choose?
Handheld wireless microphones
Handheld microphones are a practical choice for wedding speeches, audience questions, announcements and live vocals. They are easy to pass between speakers, and the transmitter is built into the microphone, so there is no separate bodypack to wear.
Each handheld system pairs a Sennheiser dynamic vocal microphone with an EM 100 G3 receiver, supplied with an XLR connection cable. Choose this option when someone is comfortable holding a microphone, or when several people will share one. Keeping it close to the mouth helps maintain clear, consistent speech.
Headset wireless microphones
A headset leaves both hands free for presenting, demonstrating or performing. The microphone stays close to the mouth as the wearer moves, making it a useful choice for active presenters, theatre performances and school productions.
Each system includes a Sennheiser HSP Essential Omni headset, an SK 100 G3 bodypack transmitter and an EM 100 G3 receiver, with an XLR connection cable. The bodypack clips to clothing and the headset is adjusted to the wearer. For a cast or group of presenters, tell us about fitting requirements and how many microphones will be used at once.
Lapel and lavalier wireless microphones
Lapel microphones, also called lavalier or tie-clip microphones, attach discreetly to clothing. They suit interviews, filmed presentations and talks where the speaker wants their hands free. Position the microphone clear of jewellery or fabric that could rub against it.
Our lapel kit includes a Sennheiser ME2 microphone, a G3 bodypack transmitter and an EK 100 G3 portable receiver, with a 3.5 mm jack-to-XLR cable. This is a portable receiver kit; the handheld and headset options use EM 100 G3 receivers. For camera, recorder or live PA use, tell us what you will connect it to so we can check the connection is suitable.

Hire prices and additional days
Handheld and lapel systems are £30 each; headset systems are £40 each.
Choose your first and last hire dates in the selector. Include rehearsal days when you need the equipment, and agree collection or delivery timings with us. Transport and crew costs are shown separately.
Several microphones, theatre or school productions?
For a production or conference using several microphones together, tell us the simultaneous microphone count, venue and rehearsal or event dates. We can discuss the equipment combination, receiver connections and support needed, including how it will work alongside existing venue wireless systems.
Request a production microphone quote for your rehearsal and performance period. Include your mixer model, headset fitting requirements and whether you need equipment only, setup and handover, or an engineer to operate the sound. Availability and the practical channel count need to be checked for the booking.

Wireless microphone hire questions
Can I mix handheld, headset and lapel microphones?
Yes. Switch on each type you need, set its quantity and choose your hire dates. Each selected system includes a transmitter and receiver; the microphone types are not alternatives sharing a single receiver in your order.
Will the microphones work with my existing PA?
The systems include audio connection cables for suitable equipment. You will normally need one available mixer input per microphone system to control them independently. Send us your mixer or speaker model if you are unsure about inputs or compatibility.
Is a sound engineer included?
The microphone prices cover equipment hire. Delivery, setup, handover and an engineer remaining to operate the sound can be quoted according to your event. Please specify the level of help you need.
Do I need to arrange wireless microphone licensing?
Licensing is included with the supplied systems. Tell us the venue and any other wireless equipment in use so the requirements for your event can be checked. For larger systems, the frequencies and equipment combination also need planning.
Can I hire microphones for a rehearsal and show week?
Yes. Include all the days you need the equipment when selecting dates, or request a production quote covering rehearsals and performances. Tell us about batteries, fitting accessories, spare microphones or operator support you would like included.
