Professional Medium PA System Hire for Events

This medium PA system is the natural step between our compact two-speaker package and the larger twin-subwoofer system. It combines two professional RCF NX 912-A active loudspeakers with one RCF SUB 705-AS MK3 active subwoofer, providing clear speech and music reproduction with the additional low-frequency weight required for parties, DJs and live performances.

The package works well in function rooms, marquees, village halls and medium-sized event venues. The 12-inch NX loudspeakers provide articulate vocals and wide, consistent coverage, while the centrally positioned 15-inch subwoofer handles the lowest frequencies. This allows the main loudspeakers to operate with greater clarity and gives dance music and live instruments noticeably more depth and impact.

If you need a compact system primarily for speeches or background music, our Small PA System Hire may be sufficient. For a larger audience, a high-energy dance floor or greater low-frequency coverage, consider our Large PA System Hire with two NX 915-A loudspeakers and two subwoofers.

What Is This Medium PA System Suitable For?

Private Parties and Playlist Events

The system is an excellent choice for birthdays, anniversaries, school events and other celebrations where music is important and a two-speaker system would not provide enough bass. Connect a phone or laptop to play Spotify, Apple Music or a locally stored playlist through the supplied mixer.

If using a streaming service, we recommend downloading important playlists in advance rather than relying entirely on venue Wi-Fi or mobile reception. Keep the playback device connected to mains power and disable notifications or other sounds that could interrupt the music.

Wedding Receptions, Speeches and Evening Music

This is a versatile package for wedding receptions where the system may be used for background music, speeches and louder evening entertainment. The subwoofer adds warmth and impact to dance music, while the NX 912-A loudspeakers maintain clear vocals and announcements.

Wireless microphones, additional speakers for a separate ceremony area and wedding lighting and sound equipment can be added to create a complete package for the day. For a larger reception or a particularly energetic dance floor, the twin-subwoofer large system may be more appropriate.

DJs and Dance Floors

The dedicated 15-inch subwoofer gives DJs a stronger low-frequency foundation than full-range loudspeakers can provide alone. Most professional DJ controllers and mixers can connect using balanced XLR outputs. Equipment with RCA or 3.5 mm outputs can normally be accommodated through the supplied mixer or suitable connection cables.

A separate DJ monitor is not included in the standard package but can be added. We recommend one where the DJ position is behind or away from the main loudspeakers. If the venue is large, the music is especially bass-heavy or the event requires high levels over a wide dance floor, choose the large system with two subwoofers.

Live Bands and Performances

The loudspeaker and subwoofer combination is suitable for vocalists, acoustic performers, small bands and live events where some low-frequency reinforcement is required. A complete band setup will normally need more than the compact playback mixer supplied with the standard package.

Depending on the performers and venue, additional equipment may include a larger mixing console, vocal and instrument microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors, multicore cabling and a sound engineer. Please send us the performer’s technical rider or input list before ordering so that we can build an appropriate package around this system.

Corporate Events and Mixed Speech/Music Functions

For awards evenings, product launches, presentations and corporate celebrations, the system provides clear speech alongside fuller music playback. Wired or wireless microphones, lectern microphones, playback devices and technician support can all be added.

If speech is the only requirement, the subwoofer may be unnecessary and we may recommend the smaller two-speaker package or a speech-specific system instead.

How Many People Will This Medium PA System Cover?

As a practical guide, this package is usually suitable for typical indoor events with up to approximately 150 people. This is deliberately presented as a guide rather than a fixed capacity because audience numbers alone do not determine the correct PA system.

The room dimensions and acoustics, ceiling height, loudspeaker position, music style, desired volume, dance-floor size and distance from the audience all matter. A speech-led event may require less low-frequency output than a DJ party, while a noisy crowd or difficult venue may require a larger system even with fewer than 150 guests.

Event or Venue Typical Suitability Important Considerations
Private party or playlist Typically up to 150 guests indoors Room size, dance-floor position and desired bass level
Wedding reception Medium-sized rooms and marquees Speeches, evening entertainment and separate ceremony areas
DJ event Small to medium dance floors DJ monitor, controller connections and venue noise limits
Live performance Solo performers, ensembles and small bands Mixer, microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors and engineer
Corporate function Mixed speech and music events Microphones, room coverage and technician support
Outdoor event Assessment required Coverage area, weather protection, power and environmental noise

Please contact us before ordering for outdoor use. Sound dissipates differently outside, and an audience figure that works indoors cannot be transferred directly to an open-air event. We will consider the area to be covered, nearby residents, weather protection, mains-power locations and cable routes. You can also view our outdoor PA system hire options.

RCF NX 912-A Loudspeakers and SUB 705-AS MK3 Subwoofer

RCF is an Italian professional-audio manufacturer with a long-established reputation in live sound, touring, event production and fixed installations. This package combines the NX Series’ tour-ready plywood loudspeaker cabinets with a compact SUB Series active subwoofer.

RCF FiRPHASE

FiRPHASE is RCF’s proprietary phase-processing technology. It is designed to preserve coherent sound across the NX 912-A loudspeaker’s coverage area, supporting natural vocal reproduction and consistent musical detail.

Bass Motion Control

RCF Bass Motion Control manages woofer excursion through DSP. It is used in both the NX 912-A loudspeakers and SUB 705-AS MK3 subwoofer to extend low-frequency performance while maintaining control and protecting the transducers when the system is working hard.

Active Class-D Amplification

Every loudspeaker and the subwoofer contain their own matched Class-D amplification, DSP, limiting and protection. There are no separate power amplifiers to configure. We supply the necessary signal and power cabling, and the complete system can be delivered, positioned, connected and tested before your event.

Amplifier figures above are the manufacturers’ peak ratings. Amplifier wattage alone does not determine perceived loudness, coverage or suitability; the venue, system configuration and loudspeaker placement are equally important.

Delivery, Setup and Sound Engineer Options

We can deliver the system at an agreed time, install and test it at the venue, show you or your DJ how to operate it, and return to collect it after the event. Delivery and collection charges are calculated according to the event postcode and access requirements.

For a phone or laptop playlist, speeches or a straightforward DJ setup, the system can normally be operated without an engineer once installed. We recommend an engineer for live bands, complex corporate events, multiple microphones, performances with changing requirements, or any booking where continuous technical supervision is important.

When requesting a quotation, please tell us:

  • The event date, venue and postcode
  • Whether the event is indoors, outdoors or in a marquee
  • The expected audience size and approximate room dimensions
  • Whether you are using a phone, laptop, DJ controller, microphones or live performers
  • Venue access times, stairs, parking restrictions and any sound limits
  • Whether you require setup, an engineer, lighting or additional equipment

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people is this medium PA system suitable for?

It is typically suitable for indoor events with up to approximately 150 guests. This is a guide rather than a guarantee: venue dimensions, acoustics, speaker positions, music type and required volume can significantly change the appropriate system size.

Can I connect a phone or laptop and play my own playlist?

Yes. The supplied mixer can accept a phone, tablet or laptop using the appropriate cable, making the package suitable for Spotify, Apple Music and locally stored playlists. Download important music in advance and keep the playback device connected to power during the event.

Can a DJ connect a controller or mixer?

Yes. Professional balanced XLR outputs are preferred, although equipment with RCA or other line-level outputs can normally be connected through the supplied mixer. Tell us the make and model of the DJ equipment so that we can supply the correct cables. A separate DJ monitor is available as an optional extra.

What is the difference between the small and medium PA systems?

Both packages use two RCF NX 912-A active loudspeakers. The medium system adds one RCF SUB 705-AS MK3 15-inch subwoofer, providing deeper bass and greater low-frequency headroom for parties, DJs and music-led events.

When should I choose the large PA system instead?

Choose the large system for a larger audience, a wider or more difficult room, a high-energy dance floor, bass-heavy music, or an event requiring greater output and more even low-frequency coverage. It uses larger NX 915-A loudspeakers and two subwoofers.

Is the system suitable for live music?

Yes, but most bands will also require a larger mixing console, microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors and possibly a sound engineer. Send us the performer’s technical rider or input list and we will specify a complete live-sound package.

Are microphones included?

Microphones are not part of the standard package described above, but wired and wireless handheld, headset and lapel microphones can be added. We can recommend the most suitable type for speeches, presentations or performance.

Does the hire include delivery and setup?

Delivery, installation, testing and collection are available. The charge depends on the postcode, timings and venue access, and is shown separately from the equipment hire. Enter your postcode on this page or request a quotation for an exact figure.

Do I need a sound engineer?

Not necessarily. Playlist, speech and straightforward DJ events can usually run without an engineer once the system has been installed and demonstrated. An engineer is recommended for live music, complex events, multiple microphones or situations where technical support must be available throughout.

Can this PA system be used outdoors?

It can be specified for some outdoor events, but outdoor sound coverage, power, cabling, weather protection and local noise restrictions must be assessed first. Contact us before ordering so that we can confirm whether this package is sufficient and safe for the proposed site.
