What type of equipment do you provide?

We supply only top-quality equipment. We love great sound production more than most, and the systems we provide reflect this. All items are carefully selected from the finest and most reliable products currently on the market.

What is a ‘Hire Package’?

A Hire Package includes everything needed to produce top quality sound at your event. Each package is specifically configured for its application, and designed to be simple & trouble-free to operate.

Is the equipment easy to use?

Yes! Immediately following delivery & installation, full instruction for correct operation of all equipment is provided, and any questions are answered.

What about technical support during a hire?

We are on-hand throughout every event to answer questions and provide support.

I need an additional piece of equipment, can you help?

Of course! We’ll do our best to provide everything you need, so if you have specific requirements, or have any questions about our services, please get in touch.

Can a sound engineer be provided?

Am I eligible for a discount?

We offer both account & multi day discounts. Please contact us for full details of our discount terms.

How do you charge?

Browse our daily rental rates, and then contact us to find out how much discount you qualify for. Our discounted rates can be as much as 40%.

Do you do deals on longer hire periods?

We operate a maximum four day charge for a week’s use, and a maximum 12 day charge for a month’s use. We are happy to negotiate for longer periods of hire.

Do you deliver?

We have our own fleet of vehicles that cover the Oxford & Thames Valley area, and use couriers for the rest of the UK. We make a charge for delivery and collection, unless otherwise stated.

Can I collect and return the equipment to you?

We are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 5:30pm. You are welcome to collect or return any equipment during this period.

Can I rent the same day?

Many of our jobs are for the same day; but advance booking will ensure the equipment is available.

What if I need to keep the equipment for longer than I booked?

It is often the case that equipment is required for a longer period; just call us if you need an extension on the hire.

Do you set up the equipment?

Yes, unless you request self-set up.

What if I have problems with the equipment?

During the period of hire we are available to answer all technical problems. Call us first and we will endeavour to either solve the problem or replace the equipment.

I’m a new customer, what do I need to provide?

We ask new customers to verify their identity and leave a deposit.

I’m not sure what equipment I need.

How can I pay?

We accept cheques, bank transfers and cash. We offer credit account facilities for regular hirers.

What about insurance?

Whilst the equipment is in your possession, you are responsible for insuring the equipment.

Are you insured?

Yes. We have full public liability insurance.

What is a JFMG Licence?

JFMG is the dedicated band manager for programme-making, entertainment, special events and related activities. The group co-ordinate the use of spectrum and issue licences for applications including wireless microphones, wireless cameras, programme links and communications.

Under UK law (Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006), a licence is required for “Programme Making and Special Events” (PMSE). This includes uses of wireless microphones, talk back (walkie-talkies) and production services in theatrical performances, radio and television programmes, conferences, places of worship and so on.

Do I need a JFMG Licence?

Yes. All licencing is arranged by Oxford Sound Hire on your behalf, and supplied along with the equipment.
